What A Week!

I am not looking forward to my Tuesday commute especially that I have a 20-minute walk to the Metro. We're currently under severe weather alert. According to the weather forecast, it will start snowing tonight, so who knows how much snow will accumulate. I hope it won't be a struggle to walk through the sidewalks because sometimes they could get icy and seriously slippery. People are getting ready - snow shovels and bags of ice melts. I'm glad that I don't have to shovel snow anymore; it could really break your back. Apart from the snow, we're expecting freezing rain by Wednesday. Freezing rain can really cause serious car accidents and power outages. What exactly is freezing rain? Well, freezing rain falls as rain, but once the raindrops reaches the ground's surface and if temperatures are below freezing, the raindrops instantly freezes upon contact with the trees, power lines, ground, and roadways. Cool stuff but dangerous.

My week is getting interesting already. Happy Tuesday!

  1. The freezing rain sounds fascinating. But as you say, it's dangerous as well. Would you believe it snowed in UAE last friday?

Take much care, Kayni. And oh, happy birthday!!!

  6. Wits, I am amazed to know that it snowed there? Was there a lot? We got about 4 to 5 inches here.

Josiet, Please send me some sunshine. I need it badly.

Cheryle, You're right. The day after the snow is quite the challenge. It was actually slippery when I came home tonight.

Lailaa, I'm glad to see you here. Thank you for visiting.
