Weekend?

The weekend is almost over, and it felt like I haven't had the time to either relax or even had time for myself. The big project has absolutely encroached on my "me" time. I guess it is a reality I have to face until I got this project pinned down. I'm hoping by December.

On Friday evening, I took my friend F for a walk around D.C. We visited the White House, the World War II Memorial, the Washington Monument and explored The Mall. I've been to the said sites at daytime, but to my amazement, they have a beauty of their own at night. The best part of our walk was sitting at the Washington Monument watching the sunset. From where the photo was taken, I could see the Lincoln Memorial and the Reflecting Pool. Remember Forrest Gump's Reflecting Pool scene?

As I write this post, I'm psyching or preparing myself to get ready for another busy work week. But wait, I've been working during the weekend too. It is as if Saturday or Sunday never came. Where did my weekend go?

To Eat Or Not To Eat

I'm taking a break from my busy schedule just to write a few unimportant thoughts.

It's a rainy and gloomy Thursday, and it's about 9:30 a.m. I've already downed two huge cups of coffee and I might need more for the rest of the day. For several days now, coffee has been my main course for breakfast. Without my caffeine boost, I don't think I can function. I've been telling myself to eat healthy, but when you feel rushed at most times, you just grab the nearest junk food you can find. Lately, I've also lost a few pounds, but I'm not sure if that's from the "diet" or the crazy work schedule. It could be both.

RIGHT NOW, I'm seriously staring at a sweet smelling cream cheese pumpkin muffin topped with sunflower seeds that my coworker bought for me. This is one of the new fall flavors from Starbucks. I already had two pieces of toasts smothered with peanut butter, but I can't understand why I still want to eat this muffin.

To eat, or not to eat: that is the question. Happy Thursday!

Eight Bullets

Life keeps giving me mundane events unworthy of even a paragraph, so I'll keep this report short and in bullets.
  • Work is picking up again
  • Operation big project commenced last week - this will be taking most of my time for the next few months so blogging will be limited
  • Spent Labor Day (September 7) at a barbecue party and ate too much chocolate cake
  • Saw the movie "All About Steve" and was disappointed
  • I just started reading the book "Mao: The Unknown Story"
  • I'm addicted to Mafia Wars
  • I have decided not to pursue my long distance relationship with J
  • Life is quiet again
Happy Wednesday!

Hope Anew

September is finally here. It's been harder to get out of bed due to the cooler mornings. I know that when winter arrives, it will be a full struggle to get out of bed. These days, I am already thinking about my Christmas shopping list. I have a feeling it might be a different Christmas this year, as there's a possibility of me not flying to the islands due to a big project. Surely, I'll miss my family, but this project is also important so it will be a toss up. Still, I'm going to miss all of grandma's cooking and all the Filipino delicacies served during Christmas time. I try not to think of the things I'll possibly miss, but I can't help it.

Lastly, I'd like to put August behind me and hope anew.
