Bellagio's Exhibit - Year Of The Dragon

One of the things I was looking forward to when we flew to Las Vegas last month was Bellagio's exhibit. I couldn't stop thinking or guessing what would it be until we finally stepped on the hotel.

I love that Bellagio did their exhibit on the Year of the Dragon.

This to me is most impressive. Literally, the painting is alive. They used real flowers and plants to make this painting come to life.

Vegas In February

I'm still nursing this annoying sinusitis, but it has gotten better since I finished my five day antibiotics treatment. I hope that I'll feel normal in a couple of days, as spring seem to have sprung here quite early. Today feels like 50 degrees and I don't know if I should be excited or sad since this might mean summer will be freakin' hot.  But while my mind ponders about spring and summer, I can't help but miss being on vacation.  Visiting Vegas recently bestirred my love for travel.  Last year, I took several months off from traveling due to my aplastic anemia treatment, but now, I can't stop thinking about exploring another city, state or country.  For now, I have places to visit swirling on my mind.

Here's a photo I took in Las Vegas this month. I think photography at night in Vegas is more enticing than at daytime. The place seems dead at daytime anyway and you'd be awed at how the city comes alive at night. Also, I've been in Vegas at several times of the year, and the best seasons to go are in spring and winter. It was really cool and nice when we were there, and it's so much nicer to walk around The Strip without being drenched in sweat.

There'll be more photos of Vegas to come. I'm just thinking where to travel to next.

LP: Kailangan (Need)

Katatapos lang ang tagsibol ngunit panay pa rin ang ulan dito sa Maryland. Halos araw-araw ay umuulan. Kaya't kailangang may dala akong payong araw-araw.

Spring just ended but the rain still frequents Maryland. This is why there's a need to bring my umbrella every day.

Ang mga larawang ito ay kuha sa Las Vegas noong 2009. Hindi lang pala pangsangga sa ulan ang payong puwede rin pala itong gamitin para sa art eksibisyon o dekorasyon.

These photos were taken in Las Vegas (2009). Umbrellas work well underneath the rain, but they are excellent pieces for art exhibition and decoration too.

On our last night in Las Vegas, we decided to take the long elevator ride atop the Paris Hotel's Eiffel Tower replica. We wanted to go up at night, so that we could see the lights of the Strip; it didn't disappoint. Below are the photos I took that night.

Lights Of Old Las Vegas

Why I keep going back to Downtown Las Vegas or Old Las Vegas is because of the homey "feeling" I get whenever I visit there.  Maybe it's also because I know a lot of people from Hawaii stay in the hotels Downtown, or maybe it's because all my previous trips I managed to stay in one of those iconic Downtown hotels.  Nevertheless, I love how Downtown Las Vegas lits up every night and never fails to mesmerize me. Below are photos of known Downtown casinos and hotels.  Some of them you might recognize in movies you've seen in the past.

Las Vegas: Fremont Experience

Hours of operation: Show times are every hour on the hour from 8:30 p.m. - midnight, and it's free. There are also free concerts going on while you're waiting for the next light show. Plus, you can busy yourself checking out the nearby shops for trinkets.

Las Vegas Postcard

At night, Paris Hotel (Las Vegas) reminded me of the real Paris.  It was as if I was transported from the desert to Paris.  On our last night in Vegas, we made it all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower replica (460 feet), and the view was absolutely beautiful.  Watching the dancing fountains of the Bellagio from up there was quite an experience. There's also a restaurant on the Eiffel Tower's 11th floor if you'd like to dine with a view. Entrance to the Tower will cost you $10/adult and $7/children (daytime) and $15/adult (evening) and also available is a $22 express pass.  I suggest going up at night because the lights of Las Vegas await.

In my past visit to Vegas, I wasn't aware of Sugar Factory, and I'm not really sure when they opened a shop there. I was excited to visit their store and had my fill of marshmallow bears covered with milk chocolate (There goes my waistline).
