At the Skyline Drive on October 22, 2010, the beautiful shades of fall witnessed a grand event - Kepi's proposal.

Remembering Fall 2010
I found this draft unpublished and I think it's a waste if I can't share with you these photographs I took at the Seneca Creek Park during fall of 2010.
"I usually drive through this area on my way to and from work. I saw the bright yellows and oranges during one of my drives, so I decided to explore on one weekend. The experience was indescribable, as I walked below colorful trees while traversing on a yellow forest floor carpeted with fallen leaves."

Looking up.
Mushrooms.
Red berries.
Interesting weeds.

Change
As I wait for my bowl of Samyang instant noodle to cool off, I can't help but look through my office window and feel the chill and coldness of winter. A waft of spice and beef noodles warmed my nostrils, as I stared at the outside world devoid of greenery, even Lafayette Park looks dead in the midst of winter, and the streets look pale because of over salting. I told myself there's more than a month left of winter, so I try to cheer myself up with the former colors of fall.
Foliage and wires.
Burning bush.
Crow.
Drive to work.
Lake Whetstone dock.
Floating fall leaves.
Dog visits lake.
Ducks.
A photographer's bliss.
Change is coming soon.
As winter packs to leave for spring's arrival, I will be boxing my files to a new office soon.

Autumn At Montgomery Village II
Today's my first day of work after a two-week vacation and it's painful. I feel like a new employee all over again trying to catch up with new cases and issues we're dealing with. My jet lag isn't helping as I am sleepy and tired most of the time. In addition to catching up, I was shocked to find out one of my coworkers resigned while I was away. I feel sad because I didn't have time to say goodbye to her; she's been a wonderful coworker and she's one of the people I get along with really well in the office. I'm hoping we can still schedule lunch before she settles at her new job. I'll surely miss her.
With winter slowly invading the area, I can't help but miss the colors of autumn just like I'll miss working with C, my coworker.
Here are more autumn photos I took at Montgomery Village.

"A few days ago I walked along the edge of the lake and was treated to the crunch and rustle of leaves with each step I made. The acoustics of this season are different and all sounds, no matter how hushed, are as crisp as autumn air." (Sloane)

Autumn At Montgomery Village
Blogging as we sail through the Adriatic Sea. It's been smooth cruising so far and very happy to be here. Regular internet connection is a challenge, but I'm itching to just say "hello to all." Pictures from this vacation will have to wait, as it's not easy working with the ship's computers.
Anyway, below are more autumn photos I took earlier. Enjoy and will update soon. Thank you for the visits and comments. I will be visiting your blogs soon.
Autumn is an easy subject to photograph. I've never been so inspired to go out and just spend a whole day driving around, finding places that I find most colorful. This year though, fall was easy to find because it was everywhere.
After Lake Whetstone, I crossed a road to the Montgomery Village proper. With proper I mean, where the houses are located. So the stream you see in the photos is a tributary of Lake Whetstone.

I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house.
So I spend almost all the daylight hours in the open air. (Hawthorne)

Capturing Fall 2010
Yesterday, I decided to spend a day with my Nikon. I know that my former apartment has these red and yellow maple trees, so I decided that, that was our destination for the day. Nikon and I were not disappointed. The maple trees in my old neighborhood were engulfed in their full autumn glory - waiting to be captured and immortalized.
As the sun shone directly on the maple tree, it lit up every leaf.
Yellow maple leaves.
Vibrant red.
Maple trees are a favorite.
Some trees have fully adjusted to autumn, some are still starting.
As the trees change their color in autumn, their leaves fall and pile up to paint the ground yellow and red.
