Last week, I managed to walk around DC and my neighborhood. I thought it was time to take some photos since blooming flowers abound. I couldn't afford to miss this opportunity. So here are a few of my favorite photos. I hope you enjoy them, as I had a wonderful time taking these photos.

ReplyDeletei like this shot. :-) also, the last one. happy easter, kayni.
Eks, Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
ReplyDeletewhat a shame to this beauty, what do they do there during this flowering season? don't they celebrate it with some ritual- drinking, eating, or just lying down in mats quietly staring at the blooms? this season is big time in japan, you almost don't find a space to put your mat in every park where the cherry blossoms are. it's just like Christmas..
and the flowers last just two weeks reminding us how fleeting life is.. many Japanese became philosophers after being inspired by sakura watching ha ha ha..
Artemis, A lot of people do have picnics (no alcohol allowed), concerts are held at the Jefferson Memorial at this time of year, some do biking and simply walking around the National Mall. Where I took the photo in particular is part of the National Mall and it's about 309 acres, and there are other areas with cherry blossoms as well. As for rituals, I haven't seen any, but I don't think the practice in Japan is similar here at all.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the flowers. Wish I'm seeing them in personally.
