Last weekend, I finally bought Steve Harvey's book, Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man, and found this really great quote about a woman's love.
Nothing on this planet can compare with a woman's love -- it is kind and compassionate, patient and nurturing, generous and sweet and unconditional. Pure. If you are her man, she will walk on water and through a mountain for you, too, no matter how you've acted out, no matter what crazy thing you've done, no matter the time or demand. If you are her man, she will talk to you until there just aren't any more words left to say, encourage you when you're at rock bottom and think there just isn't any way out, hold you in her arms when you're sick, and laugh with you when you're up. And if you're her man and that woman loves you -- I mean really loves you? --- she will shine you up when you're dusty, encourage you when you're down, defend you even when she's not so sure you're right, and hang on your every word, even when you're not saying anything worth listening to. And no matter what you do, no matter how many times you slam the door on the relationship, she will give you her very best and then some, and keep right on trying to win over your heart, even when you act like everything she's done to convince you she's The One just isn't good enough.
That's the woman's love -- it stands the test of time, logic, and all circumstances.
Steve's point here is - a man's love isn't like a woman's love but his love is still love.
that about sums up what a woman's love is.
ReplyDeletecant believe steve harvey can write, or is it from a ghost writer?
Photo Cache, He wrote the book. According to him, he got the idea from his radio show.
ReplyDeletei think i saw him in oprah...he's funny
ReplyDeleteCher, He's a comedian and he did go to Oprah to promote this book.
ReplyDeletecorrect! woman's love is different from a man's love....but they're still both love!!!
ReplyDeletehappy thursday kayni! :)
Aha that's a good point but I believe that a woman must love herself more. That quote sounds like she is too subservient to her man's desires.
ReplyDeleteI saw this from my fave bookstore last weekend. I actually already held it to the cashier. Then I realized I still have so many pending reads. Heehee. Let me know if it's a good read.
ReplyDeleteI believe Steve Harvey. I am going to buy this book for my sister!
ReplyDeleteI hope it is available here in the UAE. Thank you for sharing, Kayni. I like every word he use to describe our kind of love
awwww. woman's love - pure and unconditional! agree! :)
ReplyDeleteDaphne, The quote sounds that the woman is subservient to her man, but I'll post what a man's love is on my next post.
ReplyDeleteKero and Wits, I'm still at the beginning pages, but will let you know if it's a good read. So far, I am enjoying it.
ReplyDeletei wonder what he wrote about a man's love.. i want to see that, when you've reached that chapter..
ReplyDeleteToni, magugulat ka...lol.
ReplyDeleteuhmm, a martyr's love i would say.. but everybody is given a choice on how to love. anyway, any kind of love is love nonetheless!
ReplyDeleteVitchie, I'd have to agree, that love description here is of a martyr.
ReplyDeleteI'll check this book. It sounds interesting ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend Kayni ;)
Jeanny, It's an interesting ready. I find myself laughing at times. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a little exagg if not a martyr kind of love.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
now you are making me more curious,. how to watch out for that post :D
ReplyDeleteLucky is the man who has found a woman who loves him like that. Lucky is me.
ReplyDeleteI find it so cute when wifey gets "war freak" when anybody's a bit rude to me. She often goes "Gusto mo sampalin ko?" :)
That's how it should be, I guess. I don't think he meant that a woman be subservient to her man but rather to make him think that he has a support and for a woman to make what he envisioned him to be [not a super successful man but someone with means to success]. Thanks for sharing this Kayni! ^^
