LP: Ala-ala

Ala-ala means memories.

I rarely eat dried fish these days, but whenever given the time to cook, happy memories of my family eating together around this dish never fails to make me smile.

  7. Beautiful photo! I miss early mornings with my family (when my dad was still alive). We'd always have tuyo, eggs and coffee with the rice pag suspended ang class because of the rain :D Miss those days!

  11. I can't see it clearly Kayni pero sapsap ba yun? :) It's my fave tuyo, actually. Teamed with mango salad or sa champorado. Best tandems one could ever have. I hope you'll be able to eat one occasionally but not frequent ha kasi maalat. :)

  12. Tuyo is also one of my top comfort food. I recently found tuyo in can! Ang saya saya ko nung nahanap ko yun. It will be packed in oil, most of the time, magsesebo na sya. So simply drain the fish and wrap it in paper towel, then put in microwave for 30 seconds. No need to fry!
