Devoid Of Enthusiasm

For the past few days, it’s been a struggle to get out of bed. I feel devoid of enthusiasm. I thought that since I just had a wonderful weekend catching up with a high school classmate, trying out that new Filipino restaurant at Gaithersburg (lovely buffet), and absolutely enjoyed watching “Angels and Demons” at the theater, that I’d be more alive this week. I feel the entire opposite. Monday and Tuesday went by like a blur. Today, I'm having a hard time keeping my thoughts together.

Is there such thing as having too much fun? Or are these the classic symptoms of old age? This is one reason why I’ve always decided against reviving my dead social life because whenever I get my social schedule rolling, I feel the need to hibernate for the next few weeks or more. I am starting to be convinced that at this stage, being anti-social is not bad after all.

Today, I noticed frown lines on my face. What gives!

  1. kj and i don't have a social life btw, and we're fine. ^-^

we're not buying a house yet, with the economic situation of ireland now, it's wiser to rent than buy. so we'd still be renting, but at least, we're moving to a very cozy and comfortable house.

you should move to a new place, it's very inspiring! good luck to you!

--i guess neither. we're not machines, or super beings. people get tired. some people sleep 8 hours a day, and get renewed/refreshed the next day, pero for some, it take a little bit longer. i remember one time when i was still with my previous company, i was so tired (work, gimiks, etc) that i didn;t work for almost a week. hayyyy...

and by the way, some links for the noodles scam (don't know your e-add e, so, here):

  4. periods like that really come once in a while, when everything seems unappealing and unexciting. don't worry, that will pass! :)

and i don't think it's old age...you're not that old you know? [and who says older people don't have fun? he! he!]

    :)

  7. Hindi kaya work fatigue yan?
It might be that you get so much stress, to the point that you don't admit it, but subconsciously it's there, so no matter how good your days had been you feel like that?
Or it may just be a phase. Sometimes we just have bad days, or weeks.

  9. rico, you could be right about the work fatigue. we're facing so many challenges right now. it's hard not to think about it all the time.

mordsith, i agree. i think there comes a time that we realize that partying isn't that much of a fun anymore. yes, let's enjoy our alone moments...lol.

  10. i think we all need these 'downer' moments because they make us more appreciative of those times when we hit the 'highs' :)

  15. Not a sign of aging, I think. That also happens to me. (Sounds like I'm defending ourselves. Heehee.) You probably need to try something new or time has come for you to change your environment.
