My 2009 Wishes
I was tagged by Mumsified with a meme that requires 4 things:
~List down what I want for my birthday
~The list should be 10 numbers
~Post the image of this award in your posting
~Give it to 10 friends of yours.
I celebrated my birthday at the beginning of this year, but that doesn't stop me from making more birthday wishes. Probably, it's best to just call this my 2009 wishes. Please don't expect world peace or to end world hunger here.
- My parents to have a long, healthy and happy life. They're retiring soon.
- My platelets to become normal again, 140 would be awesome.
- Travel to nearby states or visit at least one country this year. Road trips this spring and summer would be great.
- Celebrate Christmas and New Year with both my sister and brother.
- A new camera - my three-year old camera got chipped during my recent trip to Hawaii. Now it's hard to click the settings.
- A new computer - whether it's a PC or a Mac (still deciding). I have a gut feeling my four-year old computer will go soon. I hope not because I love my MacBook.
- A pay increase would be nice.
- Keep my blogging momentum going.
- Improve my savings. Shame on me for neglecting this.
- Drive less and more walking or biking.

Photo Tagged
Here's how the tag works:
Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures. Go to the 6th Folder, then pick the 6th picture in that folder. Post that picture on your blog and the story that goes along with the picture. Tag six other people that you know to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog or an e-mail letting them know you chose them.
Here's the picture:
This photo brings me back to my 29th birthday celebration.
These flowers were from the bf - now the ex.
We had a small party with his parents and our friends.
It was a happy day.
Flowers really cheer me up.
I can't wait for spring - when I can pick up some wild flowers again.

Blog Award

Thank you, Witsandnuts, and you do know that I do find your blog brilliant in design and content as well.***This award is bestowed upon a fellow blogger whose blog’s content or design is, in the giver’s opinion is brilliant.
The rules:
When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real.
Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!
Here's 10 random honest things about me.
- My hair has been "really" short for the past 10 years. I am thinking of growing it long. We'll see how long my patience will last.
- I don't like gourmet coffee or tea. If I drink coffee or tea, I'll have it black, but occasionally I'll add milk and sugar.
- I love walking in the rain or snow. I find it relaxing.
- I wear sneakers on my way to work, then change to my working shoes in the office. It makes my commute easier.
- I drink cocoa before I go to bed. It's a tradition.
- I haven't been to the movie theatre for almost a year, as I do like watching DVDs at home where I can truly relax. But I think I'll go watch Harry Potter on the big screen this year.
- I love purple and pink.
- Since I came back from Hawaii, my sleeping pattern has been screwed.
- I eat ice cream even in the midst of winter. There's a store near me that offers free ice cream whenever it rains or snows.
- I dread my next bone marrow biopsy.
The seven random victims of this award are:
- knittering - I love the drawings and crafty ideas on this blog. This blog makes me say, "I wish I was crafty."
- Because It's Human Nature to Communicate - This blog is filled with family stories and LOVE.
- mordsith - I actually thought she's a Sith Lord, but she's more of a Jedi. The force is strong on this blog.
- kumareng grace - I feel lucky to have a cyber kumare. I enjoy her travel postcards so much.
- Embracing Everyday - I am new to reading this blog. This blog has given the value of love and hugging to a higher level.
- Kero's Celebration - The owner of this blog is family, and family means a lot to me.
- Journal of Kuyanin - I am new to this blog, but his blog has excellent design and content. Not to mention that the cold December wind blew him and landed on my blog.

Six Quirky Things About Me

- I sometimes wear flannel pjs while out shopping - this usually happens during winter.
- I "was" a drama enthusiasts, but now, I only watch comedy and action adventure.
- I have a potted Calamansi in my apartment, which I'm hoping will start bearing fruits soon.
- I am crazy about anything cute. I'd go into a Sanrio store and spend hours there. If you want me out of a stationery store, you have to drag me.

7 Random Facts About Me
- I have a merchant marine's license and used to work as a purser for American Cruise Lines. I had a wonderful experience sailing to all the Hawaiian islands except Ni'ihau.
- I was the regional impromptu speech champion but lost in the national level. I was devastated because the national champion represented the Philippines in Australia.
- I have a black belt in Taekwondo. I have started training when I was 15 until 25. I haven't trained in years so I am very rusty. Through Taekwondo, I learned so much about myself and a lot of my friends I met through training and demos. Yes, I can still break boards.
- A number of my family wanted me to go into the medical field, but I told them that it is not my interest. Besides, I've always believed that if you follow your interest, the money will come. I was right. I am happy I took History. I am now in the process of applying for grad school.
- I spent three years working in Dutch Harbor (part of the Aleutian Chain), Alaska. I started as a processor and moved on to become QC. I then went on to work for a hotel there and was provided housing and food privileges within the hotel. It was a sweet deal. Housekeeping and laundry were also included.
- I met Svetlana Boguinskaya in Alaska. She was known as the "Belarusian Swan," and she's a three-time Olympic champion. You can read more stuff about her here. Since Dutch Harbor was quite close to Russia, I think she was there to encourage children to get into gymnastics.
- I am the third and youngest child in the family. There's a nine-year gap between me and the second. I love being the youngest child.
