Four Waterfalls One State Park

As I've mentioned in my earlier posts, we visited Swallow Falls State Park in mid-June. What I really love about this park is that you hike to four different waterfalls.

Tolliver Falls is the smallest one in the park but quite serene and picturesque because of the pool that forms below the falls. For me, this is a good place to meditate and have a quiet moment.

Upper Swallow Falls  is an easy hike to get to from the main road and has a really cool view.

Lower Swallow Falls is shorter and raging compared to its upper counterpart.

Muddy Creek Falls is the tallest in the park and a real beauty. You can actually go at the top and see where the water is coming from.

Here's a quote from Thomas Edison about Muddy Creek Falls:

“Every man in his heart revolts at civilization and will revert back to [nature] if given half a chance…We don’t live long enough to find out what life is all about, but we know what civilization is - it is a mere veneer that keeps on getting thicker, but never too thick to pierce…It will be 15,000 years I think, before man will reach such a high point of civilization where he cannot and will not want to go back to [reconnect with nature].” - Thomas Edison at Muddy Creek Falls, Maryland. July 1921

  3. I long to see waterfalls. It's been a long time. And because of the new normal, parang mas lalong napapalayo kami dito sa bakasyon at magagandang tanawin. Lucky you for having visited a park with not just one but four waterfalls. Must have been fun! Here in Manila, ingat na ingat pa rin kami at di masyadong naglalalabas. Stay safe, Kayni! :)

  4. Lovely waterfalls! I haven't seen one as the long hike to get there puts me off. I told D well I can make some effort to try hiking but he thinks I might give up, mid way. He might be right. LOL
