I love artichokes! I love them just steamed and then dipping them in butter, I LOVE them on my pizza too. And who doesn't love a good cheese and artichoke dip! I too have never seen an artichoke plant. Very interesting!

if you ever get into the bay area, there is a restaurant called ASQEW GRILL (http://asqewgrill.com/a_litte_something_extra.php) they have grilled artichoke for appetizer that is done perfectly combined with a dipping sauce to die for.
ReplyDeleteyou know a city/town here in the bay area is known as artichoke capital, Castroville and has a festival every year so you can taste different ways to eat artichoke. the festival is fun [http://www.artichoke-festival.org/]

In our cafeteria, they usually steam it or just boil it then pair it with turkey or roast beef.
